Hello friends. We have some news for you. We are doing some small repairs to the house so that our guests feel more comfortable. In the month of December are low availability for the last few days.
As usual we will have New Year dinner, which are confirmed more than 15 people. As in previous years will receive for Christmas to the lonely traveler, to feel the warmth of home and also offer Christmas dinner.
Now the weather is very nice and some guests go to the beach, which is very close. Also this year we star Saturdays seafood with excellent wine from the area. Hope to see you soon.

Hola amigos. Tenemos algunas novedades para ustedes. Estamos haciendo algunos pequeños arreglos a la casa para que que se sientan mas comodos nuestros huespedes. En el mes de Diciembre estamos con baja disponibilidad para los ultimos dias.
Como es costumbre tendremos la cena de año nuevo, para lo cual estan confirmados mas de 15 personas. Como en años anteriores recibiremos para navidad a los viajeros solitarios, para que sientan el calor de hogar y tambien ofreceremos cena de navidad.
Ahora el clima esta muy agradable y algunos huespedes van a la playa, la cual queda muy cerca. Tambien este año los dias Sabados haremos comida de mar con vino excelente de la zona. Espero verlos pronto.

We had a great stay at the Little Castle! Be aware that the building itself is unmarked, but the extremely kind owner will warn you of this via e-mail anyway. Just pluck up the courage to give the buzzer a ring and he´ll open the door for you. The living room is a gorgeous space and the place is well maintained despite being nearly 100 years old - loved the rustic feel. Patricio´s went out of his way to drive us to the bus station to catch our bus due to a scheduling conflict. Great stay!

We stayed here the night of the massive earthquake and as scary as it was,the owner was an amazing guy who took care of us as well as he possibly could.He was amazing in a scary situation and he made sure we were ok and told us how to go to where we wanted to go-he really cared for us!He even offered his couch to sleep on if we needed to cos the property was full for the next night.I HIGHLY reccomend this place,it has great views of the beautiful city and is close to th beach n restaurants.GREAT!!

A true home away from home. The owner, Patricio, really goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your stay. So much so that despite the fabulous beaches and nightlife only minutes away, we were happy to hang around the castle. We also extended our stay far beyond the two days we intended. I doubt I will come across an owner or place half as lovely for the rest of my travels!! Muchos Gracias Patricio!!

Amazing house on top of the hill. Owner is very nice and helpful, plenty of rooms to relax in and bedrooms are nice as well. Its in a perfect location, close to everything but above the street so is quiet. Note there is no sign on the door but it is definitely number 166!

A really nice property in a superb house, perched on a hill (good for building stamina!), which main room, in wood, is beautiful. Location is great. But the best is definitely the host, Patricio - I have rarely seen an owner spend so much time and energy making sure the guests are comfy and happy. Probably my favourite place in a few weeks travelling!

was a fantastic host and I highly recommend to anyone in Vina Del Mar.
He has grown up there and can tell stories of times past, along with
serving a brilliant breakfast and the room had a great view! (be sure
to ask for the avocado spread) Great location to visit the historical
sites in Vina and then walk along the beach front to the modern
restaurants and cafes. Friendly, clean, beautiful view - "hermosa vista
st" - right next to the presidential palace! What more can I say?

The "little castle" is a great place to stay for a few days or for a few months, the houses location is central, right downtown with great access to public transportaiton as well as shopping, dining, and bars. I lived in the house during the winter, the house didn´t have central heating but not many places in Chile do, so the cold is something you just have to deal with down here. I think the house would be very comfortable in the summer heat because of it`s position and ventilation. The houses atmosphere is great, and for those who like to cook the kitchen is fully equiped to make any meal. I would suggest staying in this house to students and travellers, the only downside is the inability to have friends over or stay the night, but you can always go out!Ashley Lebalch

Das Hostal Cerro Castillo befindet sich an einem der schönsten Gebiete
Viña de Mares. Direkt neben dem früheren Präsidentenpalast, der heute
ein Museum ist, liegt es auf dem malerischen Cerro Castillo. Dieser
bietet neben einem malerischen Ausblick auf die Stadt die Möglichkeit,
alle Sehenwürdigkeiten schnell zu erreichen.
Das Haus selbst ist fast 100 Jahre alt und dieses Flair kann man spüren.
Der Besitzer gibt exzellente Tips um die Stadt zu entdecken und spricht
auch Englisch.
Hauptsächlich wohnen hier Austauschstudenten, die für ca. ein halbes
Jahr oder länger hier wohnen, es ist aber auch möglich ein Zimmer kürzer
oder nur für eine Nacht zu mieten. Das Haus entspricht sonst
chilenischem Standard (im Winter also warme Sachen nicht vergessen) und
bietet voll ausgestattete Räume, Küche, Bäder und Aufenthaltsräume.
Ein Besuch ist wärmstens empfohlen.

Je suis arrivée au Chili en février 2009. Je cherchais un logement avec mon amie. On voulait quelque chose de pas très cher et près du centre ville. La résidence est très conviviale. On a pu rencontrer beaucoup de personnes étant donné que les collocataires restent une durée déterminée. La maison est assez grande. Elle est très bien située. Une porte donne sur des escaliers qui débouchent directement sur la rue principale du centre ville. Quant à l'autre porte donne sur un quartier très calme et très joli. Le seul problème que j'ai pu rencontrer est de ne pas pouvoir inviter plus d'une personne à la fois, et que si mes amis voulaient dormir une nuit, ils devaient payer. Je garderai de bons souvenirs de cette maison et de mon séjour au Chili.
